Early “eyeless sight” research
French writer Jules Romains and other researchers explore perception beyond ordinary vision—laying early scientific and philosophical groundwork for later training schools.
We are honored to recognize educators, authors, and organizers whose lifework has advanced MindSight-style training and blindfold perception—opening doors for children, families, and adults in line with a mission much like our own.
Our mission in this field
Luminous Mind Academy studies how MindSight and blindfold perception develop around the world—and works to widen global access to ethical, child-centred programs. We follow the growth of the field with care, learn from the teachers who built it, and help families discover pathways near them.

Author and trainer; MindSight / “sight without eyes” methodology
No primary website listed in our records.
Lloyd F. Hopkins is widely cited in the blindfold- and extra-ocular-vision community for formalizing a long-form training approach he described as MindSight—sometimes framed as perceiving environment and detail without reliance on ordinary eyesight. His written work centers on a structured progression of one-to-one sessions, patience, and repeated practice rather than a single “activation” event.
He published “Training Manual for Sight Without Eyes: Through Mind Sight and Perception” in 1988 (Valley Press, Puyallup, Washington). A widely circulated reissue followed in 2008 (Clear Springs Press). The manual remains one of the most discussed English-language references for instructors and students tracing lineage ideas in this space. Contemporary summaries describe his motivation as including support for people who are blind or low-vision and for anyone exploring consciousness beyond conventional sensory models.
Hopkins reportedly demonstrated skills for university and blind-community audiences; reception in mainstream institutions was often skeptical even when observers found demonstrations striking. Many lineages today that use the word “MindSight” or “seeing without eyes” indirectly echo themes—long practice horizons, breakthrough moments, and emphasis on inner stillness—that appear in discussions of his program.
Biographical details (including formal “Dr.” credential and current U.S.-based practice) are inconsistently documented in public sources; treat affiliations as historical / community-reported unless you have primary confirmation.

ICU Academy · Ascending Wisdom Academy
Nicola Farmer developed a method she describes as a new, exciting, and successful way to help children stimulate extraordinary senses and skills—delivered as a structured extracurricular process rather than an ad-hoc curiosity. Her work has appeared in documentaries, podcasts, radio interviews, and a film about ICU Academy and its programme; many of those pieces have streamed on Netflix and Gaia TV, alongside other independent shows and stations.
She is known internationally for teaching and mentorship, with communities in more than forty countries across five continents. Colleagues characterize her as heart-centred, experienced, and relentless about facilitating change: coaching children to align with their natural abilities, preparing adults to deliver this pioneering work, and celebrating gains in confidence and self-esteem. She is known for meeting learners where they are—across ages and starting ability—and for framing the effort as part of the evolution of humanity.
Nicola teaches that all children deserve renewed ways to activate latent gifts, and that millions today could benefit from curated extracurricular support beyond conventional classrooms. She is clear that ICU’s programme is not the only modality in the field: no single person can reach every child, and each lineage carries a different tone. When she asked what sets ICU apart, the answer she shares is that it is offered from a heart-centred place. Adult pathways—including work through Ascending Wisdom Academy—extend the same ethos for mature students and new instructors.
“Working with the children is truly amazing, their sense of awareness and total acceptance is beyond words. It is an honour and pleasure facilitating this innovative work along with traditional and ancient methods that assist children in their development. The children are the future of this planet, preparing them in new and groundbreaking ways is the key to a better way of life for everyone.”

Visión Extra Ocular (VEO) · independent perception training
Noé Rogelio Esperón Hernández—known widely as Noé Esperón—developed Visión Extra Ocular (VEO) over decades, beginning in the 1980s: a codified path for blindfold reading, spatial orientation, and related perception exercises intended for children, adolescents, and adults. His aim was not spectacle alone but a fuller view of mental discipline—attention, memory, creativity, and ethical responsibility alongside perceptual training.
Trained in history, business, and psychology at UNAM and with a long prior career in systems engineering, he turned full-time to teaching and method-building around 2000. He systematically prepared VEO instructors and, from the mid-1990s onward, expanded trainer development beyond Mexico, giving Latin America a documented lineage comparable in structure to better-known Asian and Anglo programs.
MindSight communities often cite him precisely because VEO sits on the same historical map as other blindfold-vision schools: parallel vocabulary, similar course length, and a shared insistence that perception skills require sustained mentorship rather than one-off demonstrations.

PhD · Doctorate in Natural Medicine · quantum & intuitive healing · MindSight
“My journey into healing began when my oldest son was diagnosed with nonverbal autism. That moment changed everything and set me on a path of deep exploration, love, and determination to find real answers.”
For more than twelve years she has walked the road many families know intimately: sorting therapies, nutrition, and healing models while parenting a neurodivergent child. Quantum medicine and consciousness-based approaches, in her telling, were the turning point—where change became less about chasing symptoms in isolation and more about relationship, embodiment, and meaning.
“I came to understand that healing isn’t just about fixing symptoms—it’s about activating the power within us to shift our reality and our connection to those we love.”
With a PhD and doctorate in natural medicine, she now guides others through that same arc—integrative wellness, quantum energetics, emotional healing, and intuitive development. Students come to unlock psi capacities such as MindSight and telepathy, to trust their intuitive knowing, and to recover the energy, clarity, and confidence to live in alignment with a purpose they recognize as their own.
Her practice heart is with mothers of autistic and non-speaking children who want to heal, grow, and deepen an intuitive bond with their child; with visionaries, empaths, and seekers who feel called into more and want room for spiritual gifts; and with anyone drawn to natural healing and energy medicine for mind–body balance and personal evolution.
She describes her work as a braid of quantum healing, natural medicine, and soul-aligned guidance—meant to meet people physically, emotionally, energetically, and spiritually. The through-line she names is empowerment: a return to strength, gifts, and purpose.
“This is a journey of empowerment. A return to your strength, your gifts, and your purpose. And it’s my greatest honor to walk with you as you rise.”

Energy arts · Mindsight & extra-sensory training · author
Dalia Burgoin is an energy arts practitioner, author, and trainer who works to awaken humanity’s natural intuitive abilities. She teaches a yin-style bioenergy system meant to support healing while expanding innate capacities—including telepathy and extraocular vision, which she names Mindsight. Her public programs range from introductory guides and live seminars to longer immersions such as Extra-Sensory Mastery, weaving Mindsight with telepathy, multisensory perception, and mind–body practice.
Her demonstrations and teaching have drawn media attention in Utah—including Good Morning Utah (ABC), FOX 13 Good Day Utah, and This Is the Place Utah—and she has presented live at gatherings such as Contact in the Desert. She collaborates with consciousness researchers including Alex Gómez-Marin (Pari Center), John Chavez (DMT Quest), and Dr. Diane Hennacy Powell (*The Telepathy Tapes*), and reports ongoing dialogue with the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) toward expanded research partnerships.
Dalia is a devoted mother of four; central to her mission is her daughter Liduvina (Lidu). Though diagnosed with severe autism and nonspeaking, Lidu has demonstrated profound telepathic abilities in family and research contexts and is steadily gaining speech and motor skills through innovative communication methods. Together they participate in pioneering studies at Stanford and beyond; their story is featured in upcoming documentaries and collaborations with Gaia.
“At its heart, Mindsight reminds us that we are much more than we’ve been taught. It shows that human perception goes far beyond the five senses—and that every one of us already has these incredible abilities waiting to be awakened.”
Through teaching, research, and public demonstrations, she works to reshape how we understand perception, consciousness, and human connection. Her stated mission is to make Mindsight accessible worldwide—helping people remember capacities that, in her view, are already natural when gently trained and held with care.
Media, research, and collaboration details above follow Dalia Burgoin’s official website and public materials; program availability and study participation may change over time.

Consciousness & human evolution · holistic Chinese medicine · author · speaker · mama of two Luminous Kids · Dan Tian Wellness
Dan Tian Wellness & Natural Medicine ↗
Dr. Edith Ubuntu Chan is known as an educator in consciousness and human evolution—a holistic Chinese medicine doctor, author, speaker, and mother of two she warmly calls her Luminous Kids. Her training weaves a magna cum laude Harvard foundation in applied mathematics with doctoral East Asian medicine and years of clinical care through Dan Tian Wellness & Natural Medicine in Northern California, so rigorous science and ancient healing stay in conversation instead of competing.
“Her journey began in 2003 after a series of meditation-induced mystical experiences that changed her perception of human possibilities forever. Since then, she has devoted her life to unlocking the secrets to our Human Potential.”
“Her work weaves together ancient wisdom with the new science of consciousness, medicine, and spirituality.”
“Dr. Edith is inspired to share this gift with Luminous Families all around the world!”
That devotion shows up on the page as well as in the clinic: her first book, SuperWellness, opens with a foreword by Wim Hof and distills decades of hands-on practice into tools families can use at home. In recent years she has become especially visible for MindSight and blindfold perception, designing programs for children, parents, and adults who want to explore expansive human abilities with care—gently inviting what she describes as dormant “PSI” capacities to awaken in well-held spaces.
The path is intimately familial: her older son Kabreem activated blindfold vision at age five and, now eleven, continues to deepen that gift as part of everyday life. Alongside Bohdan, she has invested thousands of hours refining the Luminous Blindfold Vision activation work she shares with Luminous Families worldwide, and she celebrates more than three hundred children and households who have received that facilitation—evidence, in her eyes, that the work is as grounded as it is luminous.

Blindfold and intuitive perception teaching · Canada
“My passion is sailing, but in 2017 I discovered what has been called Seeing Blindfolded, Seeing Without Eyes or Mindsight.”
From that pivot she apprenticed with well-established teachers whose methods are recognized worldwide, continuing to study and practice until she felt she understood what is necessary to teach each distinct individual—not a one-size-fits-all script, but a responsive read of the person in front of her.
Her workshops fold Seeing Blindfolded together with intuition, introductory remote viewing, telepathy, animal communication, and meditation. She describes the arc as opening many gifts, including seeing in real time, and notes that in live seminars Seeing Without Eyes can happen much quicker than in solitary practice alone.
“My passion is to share this knowledge and to also teach the blind to see.”
“We are all born with this ability to See Without Eyes, some easier than others. Children come by it naturally, the younger you are the easier it is.”
She still gathers people who want continuity between gatherings—through Seeing Beyond Eyes on Facebook and YouTube—so students can find like-minded peers between Canadian and international seminars.

Vision Without Eyes · MindSight-oriented blindfold practice
Through Vision Without Eyes, Rob Freeman has helped popularize MindSight as a disciplined, close-range perceptual practice—experience in the room, in the moment—alongside structured drills, symbol work, and community practice that English-speaking students can follow at home or in cohorts.
“To inspire a future where no physical limitation defines human capability, making these mental abilities accessible to everyone. We aim to empower our students to become the next generation of instructors, capable of teaching wherever they are, ensuring this knowledge spreads until it becomes a universal resource for all humanity. While making this available to everyone, we are deeply committed to the visually impaired community, fundamentally improving their daily lives and providing them with a completely new way to "see" and interact with the world with clarity.”
“Rob Freeman, our founder, has dedicated himself to perfecting this discipline since 2017. He was personally trained by world-class instructors globally, but his deepest expertise comes from his commitment to others. For several years, Rob worked for free with many individuals, including a blind student, gaining invaluable experience. This period allowed him to refine his techniques based on direct feedback and the real-world results of his students. Today, he integrates this wealth of knowledge to help people accelerate their progress in a fun and dynamic environment.”
That history—years of unpaid sessions, close work with a blind learner, and constant iteration from student feedback—grounds the public demos and longer trainings he shares today. He still credits instructors from several countries, placing U.S. MindSight practice inside a wider international blindfold-vision lineage.
