Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 2026-05-24
Please read these terms carefully before applying, placing a deposit, or enrolling in any Luminous Mind Academy program. By applying, paying a fee, or participating, you acknowledge and agree to these conditions on behalf of yourself and any child you register.
Important: These Terms include educational services limitations (no guarantee of academic outcomes), assumption of risk, a release of liability, and indemnification. They are provided for transparency and operational clarity and are not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.
1. Role of Luminous Mind Academy
Luminous Mind Academy (“LMA,” “we,” “us”) connects students and families with vetted instructors and facilitates after-school group programs, 1-on-1 intensives, remote offerings, retreats, and parent learning experiences. We coordinate instruction, intake, and program operations; individual instructors may deliver services as independent contractors or partners under our standards.
2. Educational Programs — Not Medical or Therapeutic Care
Our programs are enrichment and educational in nature. They are designed to support focus, regulation, confidence, and embodied awareness through structured practice. They are not medical care, psychotherapy, counseling, occupational therapy, or treatment for any physical or mental health condition.
You are responsible for obtaining appropriate medical, psychological, or educational advice for your child. Do not delay or discontinue professional care because of participation in LMA programs. Inform us of any condition that could affect safe participation.
3. No Guarantee of Outcomes
While our methodology draws on practices related to perception training, attention, and neuroplasticity, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes for any participant. Results depend on individual readiness, consistency of practice, family support, and many factors outside our control.
- We do not warrant that participation will improve exam scores, grades, standardized test results, or admission to any school or university.
- We do not warrant that any instructor's guidance will prevent harm to an application, academic record, or educational pathway.
4. Educational Services — Not Guaranteed Outcomes or Professional Advice
Luminous Mind Academy programs are enrichment and educational experiences. They are not a substitute for licensed tutoring with guaranteed results, formal exam-preparation services, psychotherapy, or college or university admissions counseling.
We do not warrant that our curriculum will prepare any child for a specific exam, course, credential, or post-secondary application. Instructor comments about learning, development, or next steps are educational in nature; you remain responsible for educational choices, admissions decisions, and verification of any credentials or qualifications.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LMA and the Released Parties (see Section 10) are not liable for claims alleging professional negligence, inadequate curriculum, failure to deliver promised educational results, or harm arising from reliance on program content or instructor guidance—including claims that online curriculum was inadequate, failed to prepare a child for exams, or that academic advice affected a university or school application.
Individual instructors may deliver services as independent contractors or partners. Unless we clearly state otherwise in writing, their statements do not constitute official academic, therapeutic, or admissions advice from LMA.
4. Program Types & Expectations
- After-school group programs are exploratory introductions in a small-group setting with instructor facilitation.
- 1-on-1 intensives involve deeper, tailored work and require active parent or guardian partnership and home practice.
- Deposits and applications place you in a review or intake queue; acceptance and enrollment are separate steps.
- There is no expectation that a child will perceive while using a blindfold or achieve any specific sensory result.
5. Application Fees, Deposits & Refunds
- After-school group and 1-on-1 pathways currently use a $75 non-refundable application fee unless we state otherwise in writing.
- Paying a fee does not guarantee acceptance, a seat, a teacher, a venue, or a start date.
- For group programs, the fee may be credited toward first-month tuition only if a cohort launches in your area under these Terms.
9. Assumption of Risk
You understand that participation in physical activities, group settings, travel to or from venues, remote video sessions, and use of program materials involves inherent risks. These may include minor injuries (such as strains or bruises), emotional discomfort, interactions with other participants, equipment use, and—in rare cases—more serious injury.
You voluntarily assume all risks of injury, illness, property loss, or other harm arising from your or your child’s participation, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
10. Release of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and discharge Luminous Mind Academy, its founders, officers, employees, contractors, instructors, facilitators, volunteers, landlords, venue hosts, and affiliates (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any claims, demands, or causes of action arising from participation in programs or related activities, including claims alleging ordinary negligence, except where release is prohibited by law (including certain jurisdictions that do not allow waiver of negligence for minors).
If you are a parent or guardian agreeing on behalf of a minor, you state that you have legal authority to bind the minor and yourself.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties (as described in Section 10) from and against any third-party claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your or your child’s participation in programs; (b) your breach of these Terms; (c) your negligent or wrongful acts; or (d) information you provide that is inaccurate or incomplete.
We may assume exclusive defense of any matter subject to indemnification; you agree to cooperate. This indemnity survives completion or termination of your relationship with LMA.
12. Health, Allergies & Emergencies
- You represent that your child is physically and emotionally able to participate, or you have disclosed material limitations in writing.
- You will provide accurate emergency contact, allergy, medication, and health information when requested.
- In an emergency, you authorize LMA and its staff or contractors to seek medical treatment for your child if you cannot be reached, and you accept financial responsibility for such care.
- LMA does not provide accident or health insurance for participants.
12. Conduct, Pickup & Dismissal
- Participants must follow instructor directions, treat others respectfully, and refrain from bullying, harassment, weapons, illegal substances, or behavior that endangers others.
- Authorized adults must pick up children on time; late pickup fees or dismissal may apply as communicated per program.
- We may suspend or decline enrollment if conduct, safety, or fit concerns arise, without refund of fees except where required by law.
14. Network Member Content (Light Weavers)
If you use a member account, you may see events, updates, and posts from Light Weavers and other network members we have interviewed and onboarded. Those individuals act independently as contractors or partners—not as employees speaking on behalf of Luminous Mind Academy.
Their content reflects their own views, offerings, and practices. It is not an official statement of LMA unless we clearly label it as such. Membership in our network reflects trust and alignment with our mission; it does not mean LMA endorses every opinion or post a member shares.
15. Photos, Video & Testimonials
Unless you opt out in writing, you grant LMA a non-exclusive license to use photographs, video, or audio recordings of program activities (which may include your child) for educational, promotional, and fundraising purposes, without compensation. You may revoke this grant for future use by contacting us in writing.
16. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory local law applies to consumer rights.
Before filing suit, the parties agree to attempt good-faith resolution by written notice. Where permitted, disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration or mediation in King County, Washington, on an individual basis (no class actions), unless either party seeks injunctive relief in court.
6. Geographic Scope & Where We Operate
Luminous Mind Academy’s initial operational focus is the United States and Canada. Families may submit applications, deposits, or interest signals from other countries or regions; doing so helps us understand demand and plan thoughtfully.
Submitting an application or paying a deposit is an expression of interest and placement in our review or intake queue. It does not guarantee that we will offer a program in your city, region, or country, assign a teacher, secure a venue, or begin classes on any particular timeline.
We work to identify and secure suitable locations for in-person cohorts and related offerings. “Suitable” means, among other things, that applicable laws and regulations permit the activity, that we can operate safely for students, families, and staff, and that the opportunity meets our business and quality requirements. We are not obligated to launch in every area where interest is received.
Maps, location lists, and examples of active cities (such as Kirkland or Palm Desert) illustrate where programs exist or are actively forming today. They are not a promise that your area will be added or that the same model will be replicated everywhere.
7. Launch Timing, Legal Requirements & Delays
Demand-activated cohorts (for example, when a stated number of families in an area have deposited) describe how we aim to prioritize launches. They are planning targets, not binding commitments. We may delay, modify, or decline to activate a cohort if legal, regulatory, licensing, insurance, instructor, venue, or other requirements are not yet satisfied.
There may be a significant delay between your application or deposit and the first class session while we complete interviews, grouping, contracts, background checks, permits, and other steps required in your jurisdiction. Paying a fee does not shorten or waive those requirements.
Remote, virtual, and parent learning circle offerings may be available in some areas sooner or regardless of local in-person launch status, subject to teacher availability and program fit. Availability varies by pathway.
8. Questions While You Wait
If you have questions about timing, location, or how our model works before or after you apply, you are welcome to join the Parent Learning Circle—a weekly virtual group for caregivers. It is described on our website and is not a substitute for enrollment in a child cohort, but it is one way to stay connected and informed while we evaluate demand and operational readiness in your area.
For account-specific questions after you apply, use the contact channels provided in your confirmation email or on the site. We will respond as capacity allows.
